Advanced/Defensive Driving course

Develop professional driving skills and safety expertise through hands-on training delivered by industry specialists.

Open to all drivers of passenger vehicles including four wheel drives and light commercial vehicles.
The mix of practical and theoretical components of this advanced driver training course deliver actual on road safety skills that underpin proactive driving.

This course includes:

vehicle safety checklist, driving position, tyres and pressure
Practical Activities understanding the relationship between reaction time, speed and stopping distances
Slow speed manoeuvring and emergency breaking
Vehicle dynamics understanding what causes skids and vehicle instability, ANCAP 5 and Modern Technology
Hazard Detection the technique and skill of reading ahead and identifying hazards
Apply low risk driving strategies and safe driving behaviours
